Our Founder

Sifu Kenny Perez is a world renowned martial artist and tai chi expert with 53 years of experience. He trained in Beijing, China under top masters and coaches, and is a pioneer who helped bring the Chinese martial art of Wushu to Arizona.

Sifu Perez is a certified "Medical Tai Chi Instructor". He has been a guest speaker at the "1st International Tai Chi Science Forum" and the 6th World Congress of Intergrative Medicine. Sifu Perez is the national chairman of Tai Chi for the U.S. "National Senior Games" as well as the state commissioner for the "Arizona Senior Olympics" -Tai Chi event and is also a member of the U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

Under the guidance of Coach Wu Bin, Perez trained alongside talented classmates Jet Li and Donnie Yen. Sifu Perez is the only U.S. wushu athlete to be awarded the ranking of 8th Duan under Chinas' Master-Coach Wu Bin He has been exposed to great Teachers of Internal arts including, Li Junfeng, Li Dayin, Li Dashan and Qian Yuanzi

Along with teaching classes at DMA Tai Chi Fitness & Wellness center, he is an adjunct faculty member at Glendale Community College. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Spanish.

-5 time U.S. Wushu Team member

- The 1st U.S. produced Wushu training series. 1984

-State, National and International Wushu/Kungfu Champion

-Author of the book "Wushu Skills".

-Founder of North American Wushu Association-NAWA

-Contributing writer to many magazine and book collaborations worldwide.

-Certified IWuF judge

-Actor/choreographer/stuntman in 6 motion pictures, television, Cable and stage.

-1st non-asian to be admitted to Mainland China in 1981 (after the revolutionary years) for training in Wu Shu.

Mr. Perez has performed and choreographed works in many parts of the US as well as Mexico, China, Hong Kong, Germany, Canada, Bahamas, Haiti and Ukraine. He has worked in support of Wushu's inclusion into the Olympics and has made great strides in the unification of the Chinese Martial Arts.
